Poland
The Republic of Poland, is a country in Central Europe. It has a population of over 38 million. It is bordered by Lithuania and Russia to the northeast, Belarus and Ukraine to the east, Slovakia and the Czech Republic to the south, and Germany to the west.
The first Polish American Football club Warsaw Eagles was founded in 1999. It took five years before a second Polish team was founded in Wielkopolska. 2006 saw the first Polish championship, including the The Crew Wrocław. In 2012 The Crew (renamed to Giants), merged with the Devils Wrocław to become the Panthers Wrocław. Combined, teams from Wrocław won eight of the 18 Polish championships.
In the European League of Football, Ukraine is considered as additional homegrown market for Polish teams.[1]
