Battle of Austria
The so-called Battle of Austria is the rivalry game between the two Austrian ELF teams, the Raiders Tirol and the Vienna Vikings.
History[edit | edit source]
The rivalry began around the year 2000, when the still relatively new Raiders team developed into one of the best teams in the domestic league, the AFL, and met the Vienna Vikings for the first time ever in an Austrian Bowl. Although this game were won by the Vikings 28:34, this wasn't the only matchup between the teams that day, as the final in three of the junior finals was also Raiders vs Vikings. The Raiders won two of these finals.
From 2000 to 2021, the teams faced each other fourteen times in an Austrian Bowl.

The rivalry in the ELF[edit | edit source]
Both teams joined the ELF 2022, which means the rivalry now extends to both leagues, the AFL and the ELF, as both teams are still active with teams in the domestic leagues.
