Italy
Italy is a country in Southern Europe. It shares borders with France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, and two enclaves: Vatican City and San Marino. It has a population of nearly 60 million. Italy's capital and largest city is Rome.
Italian Football League (IFL) is the top level American football league in Italy first established in 1978. The first recognized league champion was crowned in 1980.
The annual final playoff game to determine the league champion is called the Italian Bowl, that awards, for American football, the title of "champion of Italy" and the scudetto.
Italian teams in the European League of Football[edit | edit source]
The Italian association FIDAF and the European League of Football concluded a preliminary agreement on the recognition of the ELF by FIDAF and the cooperation between the two organizations.[1][2] That paved the way for five times Italian Bowl winner Milano Seamen to join the ELF in 2023. After the 2024 season, the Seamen announced a one year break.
